Ask the Expert Q&A – Heritage Volunteering Group

The Heritage Volunteering Group (HVG) will be represented at the Museums + Heritage Show by Richard Gough, The Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust and vice chair of the HVG who will be giving a talk entitled Joined up: Effective networks for heritage volunteering.

Members of the team will also be on hand to answer questions face-to-face at the Ask the Expert zone including Matthew Hick, volunteer development manager, who below gives an idea of what to expect

Advice and guidance on the management of volunteers as well as how to get involved in with HVG

What do you think are some of the key challenges professionals are currently facing in this sector?

Budgetary restrictions, increased workload and the threat of closure seem almost ever present in our sector today. However, we believe that the strategic involvement of volunteers can help us to not only overcome these challenges but also to thrive.

What are you looking forward to most at this year’s Museums + Heritage Show?
