Natural History Museum expects high demand for Pokémon pop-up

Cranbourne Boutique transforms into ticketed experience with exclusive clothing, stationery and soft toys opening January 2026.

A pop-up shop at the Natural History Museum offering exclusive Pokémon products in collaboration with the museum is expecting large crowds. 

In January Pokémon celebrates its thirtieth anniversary, and the museum is to create an exclusive pop-up shop for fans.

The museum’s Cranbourne Boutique will be transformed into a Pokémon pop-up shop ‘experience’, stocking exclusive products designed as part of the collaboration. The shop will offer clothing, stationery, accessories, prints, and a new exclusive soft toy.

Adam Farrar, director of commercial and visitor experience for the Natural History Museum, said: “We hope this collaboration will spark joy and curiosity in the creatures around us, both in the world of Pokémon and Earth”. 

The shop will become Pokémon’s first pop-up in a UK museum. 

The Pokémon brand’s many fans include collectors, eager to purchase rarer items. The museum has said it expects high demand, and has ticketed entry yo the pop-up shop, which opens in January 2026.

Mathieu Galante, senior director of licensing for Pokémon Europe said of the products to go on sale: “Design inspiration has been drawn directly from the Natural History Museum’s iconic building and architecture, as well as the beautiful naturalist sketches that fill the Museum’s archives.”
