Casson Mann explains how it was selected by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., as the Museum’s design partner for its permanent exhibition, “The Holocaust.”

Casson Mann has been selected by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., as the Museum’s design partner for the ambitious revitalisation of its widely acclaimed Permanent Exhibition, “The Holocaust.” Casson Mann was selected through a highly competitive international competition.

America’s national memorial to the Holocaust, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is a living memorial to the Holocaust, teaching the history and lessons of the Holocaust and inspiring citizens and leaders worldwide to confront antisemitism and other forms of hatred, prevent genocide, and promote human dignity.

Since opening in 1993, the Museum has welcomed more than 47 million visitors from around the globe. Casson Mann begins work this autumn on the first phase of activity: establishing the creative, design and management structures necessary for the project. In this task they are supported by London-based project- managers, Fraser Randall. It is expected that the entire project will last five years from initial concept to a fully installed, revitalised exhibition.

Casson Mann Founder and Creative Director, Roger Mann said: “This is an incredible opportunity for Casson Mann to work with one of the world’s leading museums to deliver a transformative design for their permanent exhibition. We recognise the significance and sensitivity of the commission.

“Having successfully delivered the renewal of the Holocaust Galleries at the Imperial War Museum in London in June 2022, we believe we are well-placed to work with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s team. Modern scholarship and new narrative techniques will allow us to engage American audiences with the subject in a sensitive, but bold and original way.”
