The fashion brand will support the programme for young local people for the next three years
Tate is to expand a programme which sees young people curate projects and events in its galleries and beyond.
The Tate Collective Producers programme is a group of 50 creatives aged 16 to 25, recruited from youth and education organisations local to Tate Britain and Tate Modern, work together to curate multi-disciplinary projects and events for young people.
Through these projects, Tate said the participants “have the chance to develop new expertise, access mentoring opportunities, and grow their creative networks.”
Fashion brand Gucci will be supporting the programme for the next 3 years through Gucci Changemakers London. Tate said the support will allow it to broaden the recruitment process and bring in a larger cohort of producers.
It has also announced a Creative Futures Festival at Tate Britain in April, set tol provide free workshops, mentoring and inspiration for young people looking to build a career in the arts.
The programme runs alongside Tate’s free-to-join membership offer, Tate Collective, which is open to all 16- to 25-year-olds and now has 180,000 members.
Current Tate Collective Producer, Lance said: “The Tate Collective Producer scheme has helped me navigate the creative industry as a young person and envision how I want to develop my own career.”
