Vennersys Explains how a historic Surrey landscape garden has embraced modern visitor management, as mounting visitor numbers drive partnership with to implement its VenposCloud system.

Painshill Park, one of the UK’s finest 18th-century landscape gardens, has partnered with Vennersys to modernise its visitor management and enhance operational efficiency by implementing the innovative VenposCloud system.

Situated in Cobham, Surrey, Painshill Park is a Grade I listed 160-acre masterpiece created by the Hon. Charles Hamilton, a pioneer of the English Landscape Garden Movement.

The garden features a number of historically significant structures, including the iconic Crystal Grotto, Gothic Temple, Hermitage, Temple of Bacchus, Ruined Abbey, Gothic Tower and Turkish Tent.

The Painshill Park Trust, a registered charity, manages the site, has raised over £35 million in public and charitable funds since 1981, working tirelessly with archaeologists, garden historians, and volunteers to restore the once-derelict landscape and its unique structures.

As a result, Painshill is a beloved destination renowned for its rich history, stunning scenery, and varied events throughout the year, including live music, theatre performances and weddings.

The partnership with Vennersys marks a significant step in Painshill’s journey to modernisation. Vennersys, a leading provider of integrated management solutions for visitor attractions, brings over 30 years of industry experience.

The VenposCloud system offers a comprehensive suite of features, tailored to meet the specific needs of heritage sites such as Painshill.

Painshill’s previous system was outdated and unable to cope with the sharp increase in visitor numbers, which have more than doubled since the covid pandemic.

Painshill selected VenposCloud for its adaptability, user-friendly design, and ability to meet the needs of both a charitable organisation and a visitor attraction. The system streamlines ticketing, events, and memberships while improving donor management and fundraising efforts.

Vennersys’ responsive support and understanding of Painshill’s unique requirements ensured a smooth implementation, providing the tools needed to enhance visitor experiences and optimise operations.

“Vennersys truly grasped our needs, the emotions associated with change and the questions it may raise. Lewis took the time to listen to the situation, interact when necessary, and respond to last-minute demands. The entire team has been professional and ready to help. We look forward to working with Vennersys as we implement the system across all areas of the charity and over the coming years,” said Hannah Liles, Head of Development at Painshill.

Lewis Sargent, Business Development Manager at Vennersys, added:

“Working with Painshill Park has been a rewarding experience for our team. We’re delighted to support such an iconic heritage site. Our goal is to empower Painshill in its mission to preserve the garden’s history and continue delivering exceptional visitor experiences for years to come.”
