The National Science and Media Museum has reopened to visitors with a surprise new object on display as part of its celebrations.
A two meter tall replica of the ‘Techno Trousers’ seen in Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers has been hung from its walls.
Created for the museum by Aardman, the company behind Wallace & Gromit, the trousers are visible in the museum’s new foyer space, above the welcome desk.
Appearing the climb the walls of the museum, atop the sculpture is the film’s penguin super-villain Feathers McGraw.
We’re almost ready to welcome visitors back to the museum… but it seems there’s been some fowl play 🐧
Visit us from 10.00 tomorrow to see what Feathers McGraw has been up to in the foyer whilst we’ve been gone. pic.twitter.com/NsZQrHYZlB

The sculpture has been added ahead of the museum’s Wallace & Gromit themed reopening celebration ‘A Grand Day Out’, on Saturday 11 January, which will offer model making workshops with Aardman, as well as live science shows from the museum’s team of Explainers.
The museum has previously featured Aardman’s work, including their first creation, Morph, and props from classic Wallace & Gromit films, in both temporary exhibitions and permanent displays.
The museum’s opening coincides with the beginning of the Bradford 2025 celebrations.
