Museums + Heritage Awards adopts ‘Pay What You Can’ policy for 2021 ceremony

In light of the financial pressures placed on individuals and organisations alike over the past year, organisers of the Museums + Heritage Awards have taken the decision to implement a ‘Pay What You Can’ ticketing model for the 2021 ceremony.

This year will be the second consecutive edition of the event to be held online, with prize winners across all 17 categories being given the opportunity to celebrate with peers as part of a livestreamed virtual ceremony hosted on 1st July by journalist and broadcaster Samira Ahmed.

In order to ensure the maximum number of industry professionals can attend, organisers have introduced the option for each person to pay whatever they can afford – with a suggested contribution of £15.

“It has been the most challenging year imaginable and we can’t wait to spend an uplifting evening with everyone who has worked tirelessly to achieve excellence against the odds,” notes Anna Preedy, director of the Museums + Heritage Awards.

“Our new ticketing model has been designed to remove all barriers for anyone who wants to join us for the ceremony. Our goal is to bring as many people together for a well-earned celebration of everything that makes this sector the inclusive, inspiring place we all love.”

Proceedings get under way at 7pm (BST) on Thursday 1st July, with tickets available to book here.
