To raise funds for its Endowment and safeguard its long-term future, Derby Museums is holding its first ever virtual fundraising auction next month.
The virtual auction will be hosted by Antiques Road Trip favourite Charles Hanson and live-streamed from his eponymous Auction House in Derby.
The event has been arranged to raise vital funds to support Derby Museums’ Endowment – a central pillar of the museum group’s strategy to secure its long-term sustainability.

Derby Museums is one of a small number of heritage organisations to benefit from a match funded Endowment Grant awarded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, meaning that if the organisation can reach its current £1 million fundraising target then a £2 million Endowment Fund will be in place to protect its future.
“At this particularly challenging time, we hope that people will support this event by donating prizes and bidding on the night. It will be a fun and entertaining evening with all monies raised matched pound for pound by the National Lottery Heritage Fund to help build our £1m Endowment,” explains Tony Butler, executive director of Derby Museums.
The virtual auction will be live-streamed at 7pm on Thursday 11th February, with an auction catalogue going live the week before at www.hansonslive.co.uk.
