Free gallery examining energy transition attracts one million visitors and 10,000 students since March 2024 opening.
Energy Revolution: The Adani Green Energy Gallery at the Science Museum has reached one million visitors since opening in late March 2024, it has announced. More than 10,000 students have explored the gallery as part of educational visits.
According to the latest full year visitor figures from ALVA, the museum welcomed 2.8m in 2024.

The free gallery examines the rapid energy transition and decarbonisation needed to limit climate change through displays of contemporary and historic objects, digital exhibits and specially commissioned models.
Designed by Unknown Works, the gallery received an AJ Retrofit and Reuse Award in September 2025 for its sustainable approach to design and installation. More than 200 redundant metal shelves from the museum’s former object store were repurposed to display objects.
Sir Ian Blatchford, chief executive and director of the Science Museum Group, said the milestone was “testament to the gallery’s award-winning design and the stories behind the remarkable objects on display.”
The gallery is supported by Adani Green Energy.
