Exhibition showcases 500 artworks by young Scots aged 3-18, featuring installations from community groups alongside digital displays at National Galleries Scotland until November 2025.
More than 500 pieces of artwork created by young people from across Scotland have opened at National Galleries Scotland: National.
Artists from three eighteen years old answered the gallery’s call for the ‘Your Art World’ exhibition, and the submitted works are now displayed in the same building as celebrated national artists.
More than twenty of the works were created by community and school groups, which have been collaborating with the National Galleries of Scotland over the last few months.
Separated into four installations, the groups worked to create displays ranging from drawings and embroideries engaging with social issues, to 3D sculptures, sensory works and abstract paintings. The exhibition has been supported by the People’s Postcode Lottery.
The works of nearly 300 children from across the country who submitted their art digitally are displayed on screens.
Children aged between three and eighteen year olds are still able to send their art for inclusion in the digital exhibition.
“I’m so excited and proud to be showcasing the artwork of the talented young artists of Scotland,” said Siobhan McConnachie, head of learning and engagement at National Galleries of Scotland.
“Art has its place in every school, home and young person’s life, whether that be encouraging people to think creatively, use it as an expressive outlet or simply for some fun. This project and exhibition truly celebrates that art really is for everyone.”
The exhibition runs until 2 November 2025.
