Your roadmap to Museums + Heritage Awards glory

Director Anna Preedy reveals crucial entry tips ahead of Museums + Heritage Awards deadline, encouraging organisations to spotlight achievements and boost sector visibility.

With just days left to enter the Museums + Heritage Awards, its Director Anna Preedy has shared some last minute tips for museums and organisations putting their hat in the ring.

The deadline for entry is Friday 31 January 2025, ahead of a ceremony on Thursday 15 May 2025.

Preedy said: “Now is the perfect time to get the recognition your amazing work deserves. Start by nominating your achievements and give your dedicated volunteers and staff the spotlight they’ve earned.

“Your whole team will gain those well-deserved bragging rights, and you’ll make quite an impression on your stakeholders and funders.

“By sharing your best practice, you’ll help set the standard for others in the field.

“Plus, we’ll support you with a full PR campaign to boost your visibility, and if you’re successful, you’ll join our prestigious Hall of Fame alongside other outstanding organisations in the sector. This is your chance to celebrate your impact, don’t miss out!”

"Entering and attending the M&H Awards is one of the best decisions we've ever

Anna’s top tips

💡 Be passionate! Enthuse the judges and convey why your work deserves recognition.

💡 Back your claims with evidence – provide data, feedback, and evaluation.

💡 Treat your application as if it were a story – make it flow and avoid repetition.

💡 Assume nothing – ask a ”critical friend” to review your entry to ensure it’s clear and compelling to someone who is reading about it for the first time.
