Nick Booth joins the Dorset museum as head of curatorial services from Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust to bring the nationally important Designated Collections to the fore.
Dorset’s Tank Museum has announced the appointment of Nick Booth as the museum’s Head of Curatorial Services, a newly created role.
Booth will join the museum later this month from the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust, where he is currently Collections and Learning Director.
Booth also serves as Secretary Secretary The Association of British Transport & Engineering Museums.
The museum said the newly filled role has been created to “[place] the Museum’s curatorial function at the heart of the executive team and strategic planning”.
The museum’s director Chris Price said “[Booth’s] expertise and evident passion stood out during the interview process, making him an ideal addition to our outstanding team.”
On his new appointment, Booth said he was “excited” by the museum’s plans to invest in the curatorial staff and ”the infrastructure to bring the Museum’s nationally important Designated Collections to the fore”.
“After his first visit my son described the Museum as the ‘best place I’ve ever been’, so my goal is to ensure it stays that way.”
