The spirit’s botanicals have been harvested from the gardens of the Shakespeare family homes
The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust has created a gin, inspired by one of Shakespeare’s most famous works, which it will make exclusively available via its museum shop.
In collaboration with Pinnock Distillery, the small batch gin has been made with botanicals including quince, lavender and honey, harvested from the gardens of Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, Shakespeare’s Birthplace, and Shakespeare’s New Place.
The museum also makes and sells its own honey from the hives at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage.
‘’Using fresh ingredients found in the gardens of the Shakespeare family homes, and the wider Warwickshire area, we are offering our customers a distinct blend that they can’t find anywhere else,” said Adam Sherratt, Retail Development Manager at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.
“What’s so special is that these are ingredients that Shakespeare and his loved ones would have been familiar with.’’
Daniel Beckett from Pinnock Distillery added: “Creating this special edition gin has been a true labour of love. Ahead of Midsummer’s Day, we are thrilled to share this unique blend with gin enthusiasts and Shakespeare fans alike.”
