Initiative partners with social support agencies to identify under-resourced families for free tickets funded through website donations and annual pass revisits.

Education charity Eureka! has launched a new initiative which will use public donations to fund free visits for families in Yorkshire and the North West.

Eureka! runs visitor attractions Eureka! The National Children’s Museum in Halifax, West Yorkshire, and Eureka! Science + Discovery on the Wirral, Merseyside.

Its ‘Play it Forward Fund’ will collect donations to cover the cost of tickets which will then be offered to under-resourced families in the two local areas.

The initiative has been developed to collaborate with local social support agencies and charities to identify families in need and provide them with the free tickets.

Michelle Emerson, director of marketing and development, said the initiative “reflects our commitment to making Eureka! a place where every child can explore, learn, and grow,”

“We’re inviting our community to join us in creating a brighter future by supporting families who might not otherwise have the chance to experience the magic of Eureka!”

Public donations are to be collected through the Eureka! website, and its annual pass holders can donate every one of their free revisits to the fund.

Recipients of the fund so far include Calderdale Family Hubs, Noah’s Ark Centre, Halifax Ukrainian Club, and St Augustines Centre.
