The Piece Hall in Halifax is perpetuating a lockdown model which blends in-store and online retail services in the run up to Christmas, maximising flexibility for businesses and customers alike.

The Grade I Listed West Yorkshire heritage site hosts a range of independent retailers and, in order to maximise their post-lockdown chances of survival, is continuing to offer an online click & collect service that was debuted during the second national lockdown.

Enabling people to remain home and still shop local is the central pillar of the initiative, with extended opening hours further boosting retailers’ chances of making up for lost time between now and Christmas.

“Throughout recent weeks, we’ve been working closely with our tenants, helping them to navigate the challenging circumstances and trade safely online, and it’s been fantastic to see many businesses, not only in The Piece Hall but throughout Calderdale, showing such resilience in adversity,” says Nicky Chance-Thompson, CEO of The Piece Hall Trust.

For those people happy to shop in person, businesses at The Piece Hall are open between 10am and 6pm Monday to Wednesday, 10am and 8pm Thursday to Saturday, and 10am until 5pm on Sundays.
