PARAGON’S ORB WINS AT 2014 YORK DESIGN AWARDS

Paragon Creative are delighted and proud to see The Orb at York Minster announced a winner at the 2014 York Design Awards. Paragon designed, built and installed The Orb into York Minster in 2012.

This striking installation is a 10m x 3m gallery space that offers visitors to York Minster a once in a lifetime opportunity to see, at close range, some of the world’s most important medieval stained glass.

The Orb was winner of the ‘Landscape/the Public Realm – including Urban Design’ category at an annual awards event that aims to encourage and promote excellence in design and conservation.

The design and build of The Orb was certainly one of Paragon’s more challenging projects. It took over two months to detail design and manufacture around 3,000 components, which together form the metallic Orb structure. The result is a stunning treasure house that showcases the work of one of the Worlds greatest Medieval artists.
