The former curator of collections at the palace charity returns in a new role after four years

Curator Eleri Lynn has returned to Historic Royal Palaces, serving as the charity’s new chief curator.

The fashion and textiles expert, author and curator will return to Historic Royal Palaces, where she previously served as curator of collections from 2013-2021.

Lynn will lead HRP’s curatorial team, overseeing research and presentation of its palaces and collections.

Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) is responsible for six palaces, including Kensington Palace, Hampton Court Palace, and the Tower of London.

The appointment has been made as its first former chief co-curator Tracy Borman becomes the charity’s chief historian. Its former second chief co-curator, Lucy Worsley, stepped down late last year to focus on her ‘Lady Killers’ podcast.

Adrian Phillips, Director of Palaces & Collections at Historic Royal Palaces, said Lynn was an “exceptional curator with a passion for bringing history to life.

“Her expertise, creative vision, and commitment to inclusive storytelling make her the perfect leader to guide our curatorial team into the future.”

On her appointment, Lynn said: “It’s an honour to take on this role at Historic Royal Palaces. These palaces and their remarkable collections hold some of the most fascinating stories in British history, and I look forward to working with the team to share them with new audiences in fresh and exciting ways.”
