Museums + Heritage Show to host free webinar on securing a new job

A free webinar hosted by interview coach Claire Jenkins is being offered by Museums + Heritage Show to help boost the employment prospects of professionals seeking a new role in the sector.

Following a hugely damaging few months for the culture sector and new figures from the Office for National Statistics pointing to the worst fall in UK employment since 2009, Museums + Heritage Show is offering a free session for anyone feeling anxious at the prospect of seeking a new role.

At 7pm on Thursday 27th August, interview skills expert Claire Jenkins will deliver an interactive session designed to help participants build confidence and gain practical techniques applicable to the highly competitive recruitment process employers are now implementing.

Who is Claire Jenkins?

With more than 25 years’ experience, Claire Jenkins has worked extensively across the private, public and charitable sectors with clients including the BBC, NHS and Jaguar Land Rover. She is a senior visiting lecturer at both the University of Worcester and the University of Wolverhampton as well as being an ‘expert panelist’ for Guardian Careers.

Having been made redundant herself ten years ago, she set up 121InterviewCoaching.co.uk to help individuals and groups secure employment. Jenkins coaches clients online from all over the globe and has supported people into roles with major firms such as TimeOut, Sky News, BBC, KPMG, EY, PwC, and Jaguar Land Rover.

She has also been published, with How to Succeed at your Next Interview available as both a paperback and e-book.

“The job market is set to become increasingly competitive so the session aims to equip you with advice and tools to position yourself better and increase your chances of success at your next interview,” Jenkins explains.

“As furlough is phased out and organisations have to make tough decisions about how to recoup the cost impacts of the pandemic, there is likely to be high job losses in all sectors. The immediate future of job interviews is also likely to be dominated by online methods so some tips for how to handle these will form a vital part of this event.”
