Leading Leicestershire design consultancy Haley Sharpe Design (hsd) has appointed four new starters to keep pace with the museum and heritage sector’s increasing demand for its services in the UK and overseas.
Alice Lightowler, Hope Leone, Rose-Marie Crook and Katherine Berridge are supporting the design team at hsd’s head office in Leicester.
Jan Faulkner, Creative Director at hsd, said: “This is an exciting time of growth for us as we have several significant live projects in the UK as well as overseas in America and The Middle East. Therefore we are delighted to welcome Alice, Hope, Rose-Marie and Katherine to the company and are encouraged by how they have effortlessly settled into the design team.”
Alice Lightowler, Junior Designer, said: “I have worked on several UK and US projects so far and I am really enjoying working on the different projects and seeing them progress from start to finish. I have had the chance to use lots of my skills but have also gained many new skills which is an excellent experience.”
“Since joining hsd I have worked on many varied and exciting jobs, mainly focusing on UK based projects,” said new Junior Designer Hope Leone. “This is my first design job out of university and I have learnt so much already. I am enjoying getting to know how the industry works and looking forward to my future with hsd.”
“I have found the work interesting and varied,” said new Designer Rose-Marie Crook. “I have been creating detailed drawings but have also been updating current drawings to provide solutions to satisfy the design requirements on some live projects.”
New Designer Katherine Berridge said: “I am really enjoying it. The projects I’ve been working on have been mostly UK focussed. I’ve learnt so much in a short space of time already and everyone is really helpful and supportive.”
Creative Director Jan Faulkner said hsd is committed to investing in local talent to ensure it has the right skills in place to meet continually increasing demand for design consultants in the museum and heritage sector.
“We are always on the lookout for talented designers to expand our studio and we’re currently recruiting for Senior Designers,” he said.
hsd has recently completed the new Magna Carta exhibition, ‘Magna Carta: Spirit of Justice, Power of Words’ at Salisbury Cathedral and is currently working on several exciting new projects including the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Monument & State Park in Maryland, United States.
