The comedian’s personal tour of Glasgow’s museum includes childhood memories and career insights, available exclusively on Bloomberg Connects app.

Sir Billy Connolly has launched a personal audio guide for Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, offering visitors a tour through his favourite parts of the Glasgow institution.

The audio experience has been created in partnership between Glasgow Life Museums and Sir Billy Connolly and Pamela Stephenson, and is made available on the Bloomberg Connects app.

Throughout the tour, the comedian offers insight into his early life, his music and comedy career, and his relationships with John Byrne and others, with Kelvingrove and Glasgow as the backdrop.

““That frontage …is tattooed on my brain and it stays with you forever. It’s a beautiful building… it had life in it…. I love it. And I love it still… Museums show you, close up, what can be done by human beings. It’s amazing.” said Sir Billy Connolly,” said Sir Billy Connolly.

The tour is designed to accompany visitors while walking the galleries, but can be listened to at any time, as Connolly remembers times spent at Kelvingrove as a young boy, wondering at the armour and sliding on the tiles in his socks.
