The museum’s new Director of Audiences and Income and a Director of Content are appointed to support its Nature + Love project.
The Horniman Museum and Gardens has announced the appointment of a Director of Audiences and Income, and a Director of Content.
Annie Duffield joins the museum as Director of Audiences and Income in August and will lead a team covering fundraising, membership, marketing, communications, digital, events programming, ticketing, visitor experience, retail, catering and venue hire.
Most recently Head of Marketing and Communications at The Postal Museum, Duffield has previously worked at the Institute of Imagination, Royal Collection Trust, Museum of London and the National Gallery.
Duffield succeeds Victoria Pinnington, who left the Horniman in May to head up the Crystal Palace Park Trust. Duffield said: “The Horniman has an exceptional reputation, from bold action on the climate emergency to vital work addressing colonial legacies. Nature + Love provides a unique opportunity to engage and grow local, UK and international audiences both at the museum and across digital spaces.”
Peronel Craddock, the museum’s former Head of Content and most recently Interim Director of Content, has taken up a permanent position.
Craddock joined the museum in 2022 after serving as Head of Programmes at Bletchley Park Trust, and Head of Content Development at the Natural History Museum.
Gordon Seabright, new Chief Executive of the Horniman Museum and Gardens, said the appointments were “very welcome additions” to its senior leadership team.
Craddock said “I’m looking forward to working with Gordon and the senior team as we continue to build on the Horniman’s success, and to the transformational change the Nature + Love project will deliver, drawing on the Horniman’s world-class collections to connect people, culture and environment.”
