Museum achieves Diamond grade and England’s National Category Award for characterful washroom design at ceremony in January.
A heritage venue has won the Quirky Award at the 2025 Loo of the Year Awards, recognising toilets that bring something original and characterful to the visitor experience.
The Sherborne received the award at a ceremony on 14 January 2026. The venue was also named England’s National Category Award winner for Category 63: Quirky, and achieved a Diamond grade.
The Loo of the Year Awards is a national scheme that inspects and grades toilets from a user perspective, with unannounced visits and a detailed scoring system covering cleanliness, customer care, accessibility, signage and design.
The Sherborne said: “This award doesn’t just celebrate a “facility” — it celebrates the care and creativity that runs through the whole building.
“…our founders, Sally and the late Michael Cannon, were advocates for good toilets — the kind that are clean, thoughtful, beautifully finished, and dignified for every visitor.”
The venue’s interiors include bespoke wallpaper by Adam Ellis Studio created for The Sherborne.
