The free masterclasses you can attend at Museums + Heritage Show 2022

A packed event will see two days of expert insight on new technology, new techniques, and new ways of thinking.

The Museums + Heritage Show is returning as a jam-packed in-person event, with a bumper schedule which includes 19 masterclasses on new technology, community engagement and audience management.

Taking place at London’s Olympia from 11th-12th May, the masterclasses are just one aspect of the two-day show, which will also include talks from industry leaders, a slew of exhibitors, and opportunities to network one-on-one in the new ‘Museums Mix’ area.

Among the masterclasses at this year’s event are several detailing new innovations designed to improve the visitor experience.

Interspectral will demonstrate their new streaming service and visualisation tools, Zubr Curio will show its ‘seaside pier’ binoculars – an alternative to the VR headset with integrated AR/VR, Orpheo will demonstrate its augmented reality content which incorporates sign language into artworks, and Seymour & Lerhn will demonstrate new ways to make the most of QR codes.

For those in search of new audience engagement solutions, n-gage.io will demonstrate its platform and mobile app designed to create audience journeys and increase engagement and Wezit will demonstrate its digital management platform which includes Wezit Live Visit, which has been built specifically for live, remote visits. Vennersys will also demonstrate its platform which includes speedy gift aid capture.

Genus will show off its platform, Recollect, which creates a ‘virtual breadcrumb trail’ through collections via its CMS and metadata, creating improved website discoverability, and in interactive masterclass, The Whole Story will demonstrate storytelling techniques which can be used to build deeper conversations with visitors.

For those looking to better manage staff internally, masterclasses include DigiTickets’ online platform for managing rotas, and StaffSavy’s shift scheduling tools.

The masterclasses are just a taste of the demonstrations scheduled, as there will be more than 150 companies exhibiting during the two-day event.

There’s no need to register individually for the talks or Museums Mix – attendees can access everything for free by registering for a single free pass.

With this many talks and events you’ll need to plan your visit carefully to maximise your time! You can see the schedule for the event online here, or if you prefer, download a printable programme here.
