Celebrities to explore IWM’s Blavatnik galleries in new podcast series

Rachel Parris and Geoff Norcott are among guests to feature in the latest series of Conflict of Interest

Imperial War Museums has announced the guests set to feature in the next series of its podcast series, Conflict of Interest.

The show is created by IWM’s research and knowledge exchange hub, the IWM Institute. It will return in 2025 with guests including comedians Rachel Parris and Geoff Norcott, actress and writer Susan Wokoma, journalist Helen Lewis, and author and podcaster Carl Miller.

Its third series will pair guests with experts from the museum to journey through the new Blavatnik Art, Film and Photography galleries at IWM London, opened in 2023.

The new permanent galleries reflect global conflict from 1914 to the present day and are the first in the UK to explore how artists, photographers and filmmakers bear witness to and tell the story of war and conflict.

Experts to feature in the show include Dr Beryl Pong, Dr Diya Gupta, Dr Mark Sealy and Professor Ana Carden-Coyne.

Eleanor Head, Head of the IWM Institute, said each episode will feature “encounters with objects, artworks and film soundbites from IWM’s collection” to “bring into focus the question of how these practitioners shape, challenge and deepen our understanding of war and conflict through their unique artistic lens.”

This new series of Conflict of Interest follows the success of the first two series, originally launched in May 2021.

The series begins in January, and will see six weekly episodes published.
