A major new participatory project from Art Fund has already seen 500 museums sign up, and there is still time to register interest.
The Wild Escape project has been created to unite hundreds of UK and schools in a celebration of UK wildlife and creativity.
Taking place from January to July 2023, the project sees primary school children (ages 7-11) seek out a favourite animal in their local museum and create an artwork imagining its ‘escape’ back to its natural habitat.
The resulting pictures and stories children create will be brought together in a collective work of art that imagines a better future for the wildlife on our doorstep, launched online and in museums on Earth Day in April 2023.

The project, supported by Arts Council England, includes resources on its own dedicated website to help museums get started with planning their activities and marketing to teachers.
Art Fund are also running monthly online workshops to discuss different topics, including marketing to teachers and curriculum links, and for museums to share their ideas.
