The company‚ Vitrinen- und Glasbau REIER GmbH, was founded by Volker Reier as a sole proprietorship in the German town Lauta, near Dresden in 1988. Before the development and production of the first all-glass display case, which was realized 25 years ago, the company manufactured equipment and display furnishings for expositions and other company presentation exhibitions.
Today, REIER consists of 70 experienced, qualified and skilled personnel. Developing quality products of high standards by constantly investing into the latest product technologies, the company is considered to be one of the few highly specialized manufacturers of museum furnishings and display cases worldwide.
On a total area of more than 7000 m² the company is divided into four areas of production: glass workshop, metal workshop, timber workshop and electrical workshop which includes the assembly of the LED and fibre optical lighting components.
One of the most important reasons for the successful development of the company is reflected in its young, highly qualified and motivated team, which does not simply see itself as construction workers of display cases. As a science based innovated company, every personnel is guided by the task to develop and produce museum furnishings which are designed to safe keep and guard valuable and unique, non-reproductive cultural objects. Utmost priority is therefore given to the development of conservatory technologies in the manufacturing of museum furnishings.
Many utility models and patents as well as pending patents testify the expertise of REIER’s engineers and the innovation of the company. Examples of these can be found in the areas of the construction technique of the display cases, exhibition wall, and the lighting technique.
In order to meet the highest standards of design, functionality, safe guarding, protection against environmental hazards, and to maintain the company’s competitive position internationally, REIER has always supported the cooperation with museums’ experts, research & educational institutes and test facilities in studies/analysis on the climate control, hazards, air tightness and illumination within the display cases.
