Invitation to Tender – Fundraising Development Consultancy
Tenders up to £15,000 ex VAT
Contract: July 2025 – May 2026
Location: Remote with travel to North Herefordshire, near Presteigne LD8 2LL for appropriate site working to facilitate project management and delivery
Summary:
An opportunity enabled by funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to support a strategic fundraising activity strand as part of a masterplanning project for a vibrant and resilient future for our rural arts charity across two heritage sites in the beautiful landscape of the Welsh Marches.
About the Opportunity:
We are looking for a Fundraising Development Consultant to develop a fundraising strategy to support the development of the organisation and its sites and build longterm sustainability. This will include designing and implementing a fundraising strategy across sector funders, individuals and businesses that is aligned to the masterplanning process; also developing a case for support, bidwriting and supporting development activities and events.
Candidates will have a proven track record of fundraising in the heritage and culture sector including successful grant applications and securing match funding for capital redevelopment projects. You will have significant experience of strategic fundraising campaigns including successful legacy/endowment campaigns and be skilled in working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Role Requirements:
Essential:
• Proven track record of fundraising, within the heritage and culture sector
• Strong track record of successful grant applications and securing match funding for substantial capital redevelopment projects, including heritage buildings/sites
• Experience of building successful legacy campaigns and endowment funds with organisations
• Strong track record of building relationships with and achieving support from philanthropists, high net worth individuals and businesses;
• Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to work collaboratively with varied stakeholders;
• Strong organisational and project management skills;
• Knowledge of fundraising best practices and trends across the sector.
Desirable:
• Familiarity with the Welsh Marches, West Midlands and Wales
• Experience of working with organisations operating in a rural context
