Spencer Hancock will oversee visitor experience and day-to-day operations across the trust’s four sites.
Bath Preservation Trust (BPT) has appointed its first chief operating officer.
Spencer Hancock will join the charity in early September to take up this new role.
BPT operates No. 1 Royal Crescent, The Herschel Museum, The Museum of Bath Architecture, and Beckford’s Tower.
Hancock will oversee visitor experience and day-to-day operations, facilities, commercial development, events and marketing.
The trust said the newly created role will ensure it continues to “thrive and to grow”.
Hancock previously served as head of visitor experience and commercial at the Holburne Museum.
Alex Sherman, chief executive officer at BPT said, “I am so pleased that Spencer will be joining BPT at such an important time of change and opportunity.
“As well as investing in the Museum of Bath Architecture prior to reopening in 2027, we are also enhancing the visitor experience at each of our sites.
“I am looking forward to working with Spencer as our new chief operating officer, knowing he will bring fantastic experience and enthusiasm and a new level of vibrancy to all of our museums.
