PCC of St Andrew’s, Farnham: Heritage Fund Project Manager

Heritage Fund Project Manager

Full time role based in Farnham, Surrey.
19 months staff contract (with potential 3 year Delivery role to follow)
Salary: £60,000 with 10% matched pension contributions (depending on skills and experience)
Application Deadline: Monday 6th July 2026

Following an award by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, we are looking for an experienced project manager to lead the development phase of a major programme of capital works and heritage engagement at our historic Grade I church.
The proposed “Routes & Ringers” project aims to: save the failing tower, refurbish now silent bells, upgrade facilities, engage a wider cross section of people with unique associated histories, and create an inclusive, outward-facing space that supports community work and the local cultural economy.

The key heritage themes are:
• The British tradition of ‘change ringing’ church bells.
• Walking and pilgrimage routes from the Neolithic to now.
• Farnham’s significant craft skills heritage.
Our ambition is that a revitalised historic building will become a national exemplar of how community-led heritage can promote a vibrant church.

We require the Project Manager (Development) to oversee the effective completion of the NLHF development phase by March 2028, as set out in our first-round application. The successful applicant should also have experience of managing a Heritage Fund Delivery Phase, as it is hoped that they might lead on such should this Development Phase be successful.
The interviews for this role will be held in the week beginning Monday 13th July. The successful applicant will take up this post in early September 2026 to lead on the Heritage Fund Delivery Application which will made in March 2028. It is hoped that the 3 year Delivery Phase will commence in summer 2028
