Admiral Sir Trevor Soar (Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust)
Soar has competed his 10 year term, as the trust looks for a successor to lead its new 10 years strategy
The chair of Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust is to step down in November 2026 after completing ten years in post, as a search for his successor begins.
Admiral Sir Trevor Soar KCB OBE DL was appointed by the charity in 2016. The Historic Dockyard Chatham has over 100 buildings and structures, including 48 Scheduled Ancient Monuments.
Sir Soar has overseen projects including the completion of the Fitted Rigging House, steering the trust to financial independence, and the navigation of the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. He will step down as his ten year temr ends.
Sir Soar said: “I have had the privilege of working with many incredible organisations and individuals during my time as Chair and I have loved every minute of it. I feel proud of what we have achieved together and with exciting opportunities ahead, I know the Trust is well placed for the future.”
The trust said it is “well positioned to deliver on its ambition to be a world-leading maritime heritage destination” having launched its first 10-year strategy.
