Four former London Museum colleagues reunite to form consultancy offering strategic communications expertise.
Four former colleagues of the Museum of London (now London Museum) have launched a new consultancy.
‘Tanagram’ has been founded by four friends; Katie Balcombe, Laura Bates, Jamie Reece and Andrew Marcus.
Balcombe served for over 5 years at the museum, in roles as a communications officer and PR manager between 2016 and 2021.
Laura Bates began work at the museum as PR Manager in 2015, and served in communications roles over a six year period. Outside the museum, Bates has worked with clients including Discover South Kensington, Serpentine, Japan House London and Tower Bridge.
Reece brings experience as the former head of communications at joint London culture destination project Culture Mile, and afterward served as interim head of marketing and PR at the museum between October 2022 and September 2023. Reece also brings experience at Historic Royal Palaces, Tate, and the National Theatre.
The consultancy’s final founder Marcus worked for the museum between 2011 to 2022, and served in multiple PR and communications roles during his time. He has separately worked as a consultant with clients including the Design Museum and the Museum of the Home.
The consultancy said its name is inspired by a tangram, a puzzle made up of seven shapes. It said its aim is “to become a go-to partner for cultural institutions, local authorities, place-based initiatives, property developers and charitable funders alike.”
In a joint statement, the founders said: “It feels like exactly the right time to join forces again as Tangram, to bring all our experience together to create something new and exciting for the industry and for ourselves.”
