Bright White has a long and successful record of assisting its clients to achieve their aims and
objectives in cultural sector projects. We work with government agencies, local authorities, trusts
and cultural organisations.
We work with clients to develop their messaging, understand their
audiences, then propose a blend of media communications approaches to help them to tell their
story. We work across all media – from traditional spoken word, through graphics, publications,
exhibitions, film, audio, interactive media and XR to the application of horizon technologies such as
machine learning and AI. We love to innovate.
We also collaborate with cultural organisations and university research departments to push the
boundaries of storytelling possibility, and create new storytelling tools through applied research and
development.

to the video games industry, also servicing the media and entertainment industries.
You will be a highly valued addition to the team, creating greater capacity to work on more projects,
and join us on the journey of working with some of the most interesting and worthwhile subject
matter around.
Details and position
You will:
• Have 10 or more years experience in a senior interpretive designer role
• Be an excellent communicator
• Have a flair for creating compelling concept visualisations
• Be comfortable working in innovative design environments with communities, such as coimagination,
co-creation.
• Have worked on medium to large scale projects (£1m+) servicing regional or national
organisations
• Have a solid understanding of design methodologies, the design process and creative project
management
• Have worked with cultural sector clients or sectors with strong storytelling needs
• Have at least a bachelors degree
• Be a true team player
• Have demonstrable experience of creating project-winning concepts
• Be comfortable pitching for new work and responding to design briefs and challenges
• Be comfortable working with external subject matter experts
• Be comfortable providing art direction for projects
• Be comfortable working on multiple projects in parallel
• Be comfortable producing design stage documentation
• Be comfortable designing for any medium, in a cross and trans-media manner
• Be client facing, interfacing with senior interpretation officers and CEOs.
It would be beneficial for you to have the following, but not essential:
• Membership of Association for Heritage Interpretation or a similar professional body
• 3D modelling skills (SketchUp, 3D Studio, C4D for example)
• Familiarity with remote collaboration tools
• Experience of writing or contributing to interpretation plans
• Experience in the communication of science

Location
• Bright White’s office is based in York. If you live nearby then we can provide a full time place of
work. However we will consider candidates who would work remotely within England, Scotland
or Wales.
• Even if you do live in the York area, you can work a variable hybrid pattern.
• Our work involves site visitation – you must be prepared to travel to visit sites, typically 2 or 3
times per month. Travel costs will be covered.
• On occasion, work is outside the UK, for example in the EU and North America. You must be
willing to travel for short site visits and client meetings. Travel costs will be covered.
• On occasion, the team might need to meet in person in York or at Keywords Studios HQ in
London.
Salary
• £45,000 to 50,000 pa, depending upon experience
